Standard AWD 

All-wheel drive is great to have when you live in Massachusetts, especially when the weather takes a turn. All three 2024 Chevy Blazer EV models — the LT, RS, and SS — feature standard eAWD. The base Tesla Model Y is only available with rear-wheel drive. If you want AWD in the Model Y, you’ll need to upgrade to a pricier model. 

    Better range

    The Chevy Blazer EV LT and RS both boast maximum range of up to 279 miles on a full charge, which matches the max EPA-estimated range of the Tesla Model Y Performance.[1] But Tesla’s Long Range version of the Model Y isn’t nearly as long-range as the Blazer EV RS. The Chevy Blazer EV RS maxes out at 324 miles of range with RWD, handily topping the Model Y Longe Range’s 310-mile max. 

      A true performance EV

      The 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance puts its strong suit right there in the name, but it’ll have a tough time going toe-to-toe with the upcoming Blazer EV SS. Thanks to Wide Open Watts, a feature exclusive to this model, the Blazer EV SS can sprint from 0-60 mph in under four seconds, putting it right there with the Model Y Performance. Strangely, Tesla doesn’t publicize the output of its Performance model, but third-party testing puts it around 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. Chevy has no trouble confirming the strength of the Blazer EV SS, rating it at a whopping 557 ponies and 648 lb-ft of torque. 
        There are plenty more reasons why you’d consider the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV over the Tesla Model Y, including Camaro-influenced styling that stands out more boldly than Telsa’s milquetoast exterior design.
