Owning an electric vehicle can seem daunting, but you can Count on Copeland to provide you with the information you need to feel comfortable driving your efficient EV. You can charge your EV at public charging stations like those near Westgate Mall or in the heart of downtown. But you can also power up your vehicle's battery from the comfort of your own home!
Before you have anything installed, it's important to understand the different types of charging levels that exist. Public stations typically offer Level 2 or DC Fast Charging that offers a quick boost so you can get on your way. But most home chargers are either Level 1 or Level 2.
After you decide which level of charging is best for you, it then comes down to the type of home EV charger that you get installed.Â
General Motors offers a variety of EV home chargers that you can choose from. Whether you want a simple Level 1 dual-level cord set or the powerful GM PowerUp+ Level 2 charger, you'll find exactly what you need that fits your budget on the Chevrolet Parts website.
Â
Most Level 2 wall chargers require professional installation because they need to be hardwired into your home or installed like a 240-volt appliance-like circuit. Chevy works with Qmerit - North America's most trusted installer for EV chargers - to get your home charger set up and running. Once you've chosen the charger you want, you'll fill out an online installation form and follow the subsequent instructions to get an appointment installation scheduled. It's as easy as that!Â
If you have any questions regarding EV home chargers or anything related to owning and driving an electric vehicle, don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly and knowledgeable team at Copeland Chevrolet in Brockton, Massachusetts.Â

We understand that with so many at-home charging options, it can feel overwhelming at first. Using Level 2 chargers, charging your vehicle's battery is as simple as plugging your phone in at night. When you come home, plug your vehicle in, and your battery will be ready for your morning commute to work. When you use a GM Energy PowerShift Charger, you can enjoy fast charging up to 13 times faster than a 120-volt outlet charger.
Plus, you can utilize the GMC vehicle mobile app to monitor your charge status and check your vehicle's battery percentage. The app also shows you public charging stations near you. If you're not sure which charger fits your specific Chevy model, we invite you to speak with our Chevy experts at Copeland Chevrolet.
